I have been reading a book on cybernetic Transposition from www.howtobelucky.com I have the following questions from some AI buffs The books says there are 12 types of unconscious stereotypes in the world. Is it true Although I dont know whether it has worked with me , it says ther eis a method for getting your intuitive ideas to conscious awareness. Can it be done by using AI or is it that I am wasting my time and money Can someone suggest where can I read more about stereotypes and how the collective unconscious works Cheers Summer
I think you're thinking about archetypes, not really stereotypes. Look up Joseph Campbell online, you should find a lot of info on that. We're doing that in English right now. It works for stories, but I'm the biggest skeptic you'll ever find on things like this, so I'd never say you could apply it to people. Humans are more complex than a couple of archetypes.

Actually, look into the Meyers/Briggs personality types (a good resource on this is David Keirsey's book "Please Understand Me II"). Those are very deep, easy to use and the 4 personality tempraments that are the basis of them have been recognized for over 3000 years.

Quote: Humans are more complex than a couple of archetypes.
While that is true, to an extent, you are missing the entire point of categorization.

Well hey, you can't talk about collective unconsciousness & archetypes without mentioning Carl Jung, the guy who invented both concepts. A nice book I have is called "Jung: A Very Short Introduction", and it really is very short, like 150 pages, and gives a pretty good introduction to Jungian philosophy.

As far as using computer AI for "getting your intuitive ideas to conscious awareness", well, I would be pretty surprised.

Although, I know of a great Rogerian psychologist that goes by the name of Eliza.
Hey Thanks Guy for all the info

This guy in his book "How to Get Lots of Money for Anything Fast"
(www.howtobelucky.com) says

There are 12 unconscious stereotypes who cluster together in a 15 dimension hyperspace and there are only 12 kind of people in this world. He made some software called Arientel which he used to collect data about the collective unconscious ( as per Carl Jung)

So I assume that this is this guys patent only and I wont find that anywhere

This article is really good, it will introduce you to archetypes, the anima/animus, and Carl Jung ideas.
