Now I know some people do not like to hear that that game they worked on is not good but if you like it then by all means go ahead and have fun. If you are going to make a game and you want to make a lot of money from it then many should not bother. Some people do have decent games and have made a little money from it. Their will always be critics and if the critics are the biggest help to a designer to make it better, but some critics can also hurt if they do not know about the topic well. If you many that say that the game needs something and explains why then you are benefiting more from the new knowledge than another that didn't get any advice. I am not saying to destructively criticize a game but to constructively criticize. Also some compliments can not be helpful, even though some do that so that the other won’t feel bad. If people only want to hear good and they can’t take it then they want to learn the hard way. But even if your game is good and many like a bad game, well there is a reason why the bad game is favored since it may be the flavor of the day or your game is not to there style, they have some good fun qualities to it despite your game has better art, or you may have better game play and the other has art and you run into people that favor art over game play. Well I may have confused some but the pint is that it is good that people ask for advice but maybe designers should join up with other designers despite the constructive criticism and disagreements. I rated a few people’s games before it went to market and I said it was not good and they got mad, but how else can I help since the truth is not desired? The game comes out and it did not sell. The majority of games that come out even by professionals with a budget of 1 million do not do well. People seem to forget that games are for fun which no matter how much art and story you put into it still won’t help the game play. Many plain games do well since they have good marketing which many here do not have. So your goal should not be I can make a slightly better decent game like game companies have since you do not have millions to spend of advertising. Many programmers think they know it all and will only make their game but I see for years many programmers here that have not done something amazing yet with all their abilities. M maybe they should have a little group with other people that have the same game idea like mmorpg or action game and to incorporate some ideas that way both benefit. Too many people asking for help in help wanted and many come up with the same idea but in different teams. You can’t have a great game with one small gimmick but the more original ideas and more people the better and faster your game will come out. It is not good for a general to have only one battle strategy and neither would a designer, or a game, so the more the merrier. Game dev is an opportunity to make something good to archive your goal but many find it as a stepping stone for a fake goal. You are here to think and create, but many are here loose track on why they are here and are just playing games or waste time. Just a though. ------ Power without perception is useless, which you have the power but can you perceive?

Clearly English isn't your first language, so I'll make this as clear and succinct as I can; Don't post crap.

Trying to understand... but... using the wrong words with the wrong punctuation makes communication extremely difficult. From what I can gather it sounds as if you think that your opinion of a game is "right" and everyone else's is "wrong." Unless, of course, another person's opinion is the same as yours.

From what I've seen, only a small majority make any large sums of money in the videogame industry (at least as far as non-executive types go). I really doubt that most people are in it for the money. Afterall, if you can write something as complex as a videogame, chances are you could write business software and make much more money.

You know, I don't place too much emphasis on a user's rating when reading their posts. Yet when someone has a rating of 0, that tells me the community as a hole wants nothing more than for you to stfu.

Stick to the topic. If you are upset in what I said since you feel the negative things you read reflect you then don't blame me that you are no good at game design even though you might be a good person but so far I don't see graceful losers, so don't attack me attack yourself. You can be better when you blame yourself than others for your design. If people are insecure and feel better to attack another then you should get a life. But if you don't get it, then how maybe I don't get it how some do get it and not you? Some get it but don't like how it is presented and I understand that. But I have not been mean yet to anyone and started calling names at someone else’s posts since I know they talk hot air.

Just because you don't understand my post does not mean others don't. I like my rating low which proves my point about the conduct of many here. And I have some rated me because they encourage diversity than narrow-mindedness.

If this forum had a multiplayer game and you get more points for popularity then I would be one of the top players. I know many are waiting for the day when they can be able to take on another member with better stats, skills, and graphics, than using a rating system that is just as powerful like a text based game.
