idea on Tank Game shoot

I'm working on a 2D tank game now.I want my game to be some more skillful,so I use a cross for each tank to aim other tank.Any advice on my shoot model will be appreciated.Thanks in advance. [Edited by - Robinhood on July 19, 2004 1:32:39 AM]
How about using an accurate ballistics model, where you can define the elevation of your shot as well as just the direction?

To make things more interesting still, you could throw in wind effects and maybe even give different ammunition types different ballistic properties.

bouncing bullets like in atari's combat.
Oh,I forgot to mention that my game is viewd from up to down,not from front to back.
