hey there, where can i learn more about resource files? do i need to use a resource editor (as in the one that comes with VC++) or is it possible to code the .rc file yourself? I have been having trouble with my resource editor, does anybody know of a good one i can download? thanks

If you get good enough with them, you can use notepad to edit them.

I only use mine for icons, since everything else I do I program into my application in other ways(DirectX gets a "little" weird with window''s controls =P), or I''d help you more.

Unless you use C++Builder, I''ve heard it also has an alternate (and much more complex) resource format, though I don''t have a copy yet, so I couldn''t back that up.
