I want to write one, how do I go about it? Am I going to have to write one specific to each browser? How do I put code in the webpage to take advantage of the plugin? Can I make the plugin work just like a regular program that runs while your on the page?

Look up ActiveX controls... that''s the easiest for putting little programs into web pages...
