I''m curious to how many people around here have decent video cards. Bascially, I can''t really do large scale surveys on everybody, so why not just do one here. The reason is that I''m curious about the "market" that has them. Maybe that''s one reason that Quake 3 didn''t sell as well as, say, Unreal Tournament (besides UT was a better game, IMO). Anyone who wants to participate would be helpful. ----------------------------- 1. "Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie!'... till you can find a rock." 2. i have a tnt2 32mb, and all of my friends with computers have 3d cards... all better than mine

i think the average gamer these days has a 3d card...i think the majority do for that matter..

hey, ive been without a descent graphics card for the past year almost until just recently and about half of my computer game playing friends have good cards. i can say though that the nvidia geforces are damn fine. uh uh uh.
well ive been on a tnt1 16megs for probably over a year now and i still have a k62 333 but i still can play games alright even though im starting to notice that todays 3d games are starting to look choppy at times but they still work
I have a Geforce 2 card in my system. Before that I had a 12mb Voodoo2 card. I''ll likely stick with the Geforce 2 card for another year or two. I don''t think video cards had much say in how well UT did against Quake 3 considering from a performance standpoint, Quake 3 is much better then UT. John Carmack is still the king of 3D engines. UT is more popular (and my favorite of the two) because of everything else it had. More play options, more weapon varieties, cooler levels, automatic web based stat tracking.
I think pretty much every relatively new video card you buy today has at least some 3D ability. It''s become an expected feature, not a bonus extra.

I''ve got a PII 400 with ATI Rage Pro 4 meg, and all the games work fine and perfectly. Even quake3 was smooth as hell on that card.
Seems like I''m like theRaskell
I also have a GeForce 2 GTS, and also had a 12mb Voodoo2 for almost 2 years
