Creating File Types at run-time in Registry

You know how many programs have that Install program that can be set to create all necessary file type associations? Like, installing Visual C++ creates the .cxx and cppfile keys in the registry. How do you do this in code? Even editting the Registry by hand isn''t adequate since I need to restart the computer to see my changes reflected, if I''m changing keys. ~CGameProgrammer( );

Well, thats not quite true, as you can RegRun registry entries to activate them WITHOUT rebooting...
