CodeWarrior any good?
I was wondering if the CodeWarrior compiler was any good, ''cause I heard it''s better than MSVC++ 6 and I heard it was cheaper too. Can anybody give me some info?
It''s good, but personally I like Visual Studio 6 way better, but if your coding on Linux, CodeWarrior sure beats vi and xgdb
CodeWarrior rocks!
At least on the Mac, where I have to use it.
It is easily on par with VC++
I actually like Borland C++ Builder best for Windows.
It has by far the best implementation of the C++ standard and it is reasonably priced.
And if you need to develop tools it has all the VCL RAD development capability of Delphi.

Re: Borland prices
True, the enterprise edition is ~ $3000 but unless you are doing multi-tiered web database development, why would you want it?
The standard edition is a very good option. And at a reasonable price ~$100.
The professional edition just gets you more VCL components and the source code. That you can get an upgrade price ( for just about any previously existing compiler for ~$250 )
I got my latest version, C++ Builder 5.0 direct from borland for about $250 - pre-ordered I think.
But I had first bought into them with Borland C++ 4.5 a number of years ago.
