----------------------------------------------- GameSplit Online Gaming Community Document ----------------------------------------------- User Profiles: Users will be able to edit there profiles with html tags, profile pictures, and custom portraits. Users should also be able to control what information other users see, and the html tags should be limited, for example, the annoying a:\ spin and any java script. ---------------------------------------------------------- Communications: The Communications should include basic instant messaging, chat windows, file transfer protocol, game and room invites, user find, buddy list, and a multi chat for misc functions (e.g. clan meetings, friends chatting, etc...) ---------------------------------------------------------- Server Availability: I know how annoying it is when a certain server is down and your expecting to meet some one at a certain time, or maybe play a clan match at a certain time. The Server Availability will be more of a backup option, for example, lets say that "Gamesplit.server1.com" is down, they can pull up a list of all GameSplit Community servers and join say "GameSplit.server2.com" or "GameSplit.server3.com" etc... ---------------------------------------------------------- Online Gaming: We should always have gaming lobbies open for the newest games that have been released, as well as the games that everyone loves to play but cant ever find anywhere to play them at. In other words, any game that is on FilePlanet.com or GameSpy Arcade, we are probably going to have. ---------------------------------------------------------- Advertisement: Our advertisement shouldn''t be to annoying like GameSpy Arcade, I was thinking of maybe just having an advertisement rotation with ad banners up top, no big pop-up ads that keep you from joining the lobbies or chat rooms that you have to wait forever to close. ---------------------------------------------------------- Lobby Rooms: The chat rooms and game rooms in lobbies should have a microphone with a set time (such as Yahoo limits there mic times) unless the moderator of the room gives you the "Freedom Of Speech" which enables you to talk whenever. Also, the users should have the option to password protect there rooms, and the option to enable/disable the mic conversations. ---------------------------------------------------------- Ranking System: Im not quite sure on the ranking system yet, but I want to start the system for the big games first (mostly first person shooters) im thinking there will be a set of 10 ranks. All users start off as Rank 0 which is a new comer, then every 500 frags in a tournament game the user will advance in rank if they are the first through third place winner. NOTE: User in a tournement game can earn frags in multiple tourneys. (example: 20+ in Tourny1, 100+ in tourny2, that would be 120 frags on there kill score) ---------------------------------------------------------- Latency: All users should be able to see there latency (lag) on a meter, as well as view other peoples latency from there meters as well. I feel this will help gamers determine there matching when playing a head to head game and finding a good opponent. ---------------------------------------------------------- GameSplit Community Games: All of the games hosted by GameSplit should have full cheat protection enabled, no one likes a cheater and its always annoying to play against people with game hacks, etc...
