free Multimedia Fusion graphics?

Hi! We have to make a Multimedia Fusion game for a course I''m taking. But quite honestly, the graphics suck! I''d like something that reminds of the great SNES days: like MegaMan X and Super Metroid. Are there any free graphics libraries out there? Or if any of you have something you''d like to share? I''m no artist and the time is to short for me to rip out the graphics and import them to MMF :/ }-- Programmer/Gamer/Dreamer --{

heh, good old days graphics...well,those graphics are pixelart.so the best way would be to draw it by yourself...but wait, what are you talking about?

errmmn what do you mean that the time is too short for you to rip graphics?

gamedesign isn´t simply done in a few days!i am working on a game since one year ,and will maybe need one more...

so what kind of course is this, that doesn´t give you time ,or if there is no time, some standardgraphics to play around with?even when they suck.

ripping graphics is the worst case in my opinion anyway.besides the fact that there are some licence issues with ripped stuff, very bad drawn OWN graphics are always better than ripping them ... i don´t want to play the xxx megamam clone ... :-P

besides that:

"so you want to be a pixelartist" tutorial page:
http://pixeltutorial.cjb.net/

ari´s spritelib:
http://www.arifeldman.com/free/spritelib.html

also good places are pages around rpgmaker 2000 or gamemaker by mark overmars...

google leads you to those places ... take a look into their grapics ressources or links sections

i am also providing free graphics and sprites.but they are rendered iso stuff.so it seems to be nothing for you ;-)

thanx for the "bashing" and the links!

yeah well, we to: http://www.geocities.com/inusunited/
we're remaking the engine from scratch but school is taking to much time

"so what kind of course is this, that doesn´t give you time ,or if there is no time, some standardgraphics to play around with?even when they suck."
We have 1.5 months to make a) a platform game with 2 levels or b) a space shooter with 2 levels. So there is actually time to make the game, but I have other courses too (4 others actually) so I don't have time to draw my own graphics and my friends also a coder (not an artist). The graphics in MMF suck because all characters, enemies, stuff, backgrounds, tiles are made with different drawing styles so nothing matches. Kinda sucks.
I'm not even gonna disscuss the "game creation course" held by a guy whos only involvment in game developing has been as a reviewer for a normal newspaper (not a game magazine). So hopefully we'll learn some "dos" and "don'ts"?

I wouldn't ask of something I could do myself... I'm just curious if I'm the only one that thinks the accompaning graphics for MMF sucks and wonders if there are any free graphics libs for MMF.

Thanx again for the links! That last one really hit the spot for 2 friends making a iso adventure game with MMF!

That "so you want to be a pixel artist", I showed that to our artist back when we were making our game. But he just frowned because he doesn't like pixel art

Hail fellow MMFer.

I love what you''re doing, but some of the stuff needs a lot of work yet. You want pre-rendered sprite libs??? WHY???? Look in your concept art section, that stuff is stunning! The screens look pretty cool, but like I say, some of the perspective stuff needs work (whats with the statues base, as I assume thats what it is?)

Anyhow, if you want sprote libs, the best place to go are to the click community sites.
The Daily Click
Tigerworks Homepage
The Klik Academy
And of course...
Clickteam, the creators of MMF. Ask on the forums of these sites (except Tigs, he has some good libs under his download section), and you''ll be pointed in the right direction.

doodle_sketch: hi there! thanx for the nice responce

Well it's like this: We're 5 guys writing our dream game, the one on our homepage. But school keeps getting in our way. 4 of us are coders, and the 5th is the artist, but he's a "normal" artist used to drawing comic style art on paper. So that was his first try to do some computer stuff, that's why it looks like hell. But we finally convinced him to buy a tablet! And he's never been happier He's learning to use it and his new style looks reeeaaaalllyy cool! One of the coders did the graphics for the homepage, he likes photoshop. Can you tell? Can't wait until we have time for our game again! *dreaming*

We thought we might get some time for our game on this course, but nope! The teacher INSISTS on us working 2 and 2 and writing a game with MMF. So here we are. All of us decided to make some easy game, but the MMF graphics doesn't allow us to make what we want (try to make a cool platform shooter like megaman with that kind of prerendered crap that follows MMF). So for our course; _no_ we _don't_ want prerendered stuff, pixelart is teh 1337! hehe

This is DarkFire.
I am new at GameDev and would like to become aquainted with all of you very soon. By the way, can anyone give me a few pointers on making games via Game Maker/MMF?

This is DarkFire, A.K.A. Myst, here a neyophyte game dev and looking for fellow members of "The Alliance". If I ask, no need to thrashfully comment, just answer my question...or thou shalt be burned.
