Can anybody give advices on books covering the advanced mulptiplayer programming techniques? I''ve already learned theory on programming networking applications, and i can code using winsock and bsd sockets. Now i want more about info the practical approach to lag compensation, prediction and synchronization in game programming. Are there any books covering mentioned topics (especially for fast action internet games)? Can''t find one. There are plenty of books about the basics of TCP/IP, the communication issues, etc, but i can''t find a book which would describe the advanced topics and common solutions to internet latency problems (game specific)... Please help.
Check out the resource thread i posted DGtalx. It contains some useful info. on what your looking for.
