I have to test a program that is hosting a session but I don''t have a lan at the moment. what can i do to simulate the network on a single machine? thanks

Do you have a network card ??
If yes, just use the loopback adress (127.0.0.1) to communicate

I think there is a nw simulator comming with the dx sdk from microsoft. Check it out
