I have seen many people on these forums try to explain their great new idea for a game, and fail miserably at doing so because they are not skilled at writing effectively. So, my simple word of advice is before you start trying to write up a design doc or tell other people about your game through writing, learn how to write effectively. You may have a great idea, but poor writing skills will immediately make it look bad to others. Some even need to review basic grammar. Please do this. Get a book like Elements of Style, or find a writing skills tutorial on the internet.

i agree, more or less. while this isn''t a place that requires formal writing (it is just an internet message board after all), if your post is so craptastically written that people don''t even know what you mean (or they get a headache trying to figure it out), you will not get good responses.
