Control Systems
Hi, Sorry for being a bit OT, but I wanted to ask if someone could give me some information as to how to select what control method to use for a given application?
Ie: "What is the best control system for X?"
Something that compares pid,fuzzy,neural,etc.. control would be nice.
Thanks!

Ask yourself what others have used for the nearest to X you can find and how well did it work?
An undefined X may need an (as yet) undefined control system, so you do need to be a bit more specific in your question.

hey steve,
my specific application is controlling legged robot locomotion, and previous approaches have been neural network, spectal analysis, algorithmic, genetic programmed, pid and fuzzy based controllers. I was planning on comparing the performance of all these, but I figured someone else must have done this previously (not for this specific application), and I cant find any good information.
If anyone can suggest any papers/books/webpages/anything which compare just two (or more) control systems that would be good too..
and I was after a general response (not too specific for any one application - but thats okay too)...
