What king of pathfinding AI should be used for an RTS?

KING? The KING of pathfinding is probably A*.

botman

Would not A be the King? After all, A* decended from A ... and then that would make A* just a Prince ...

has a description of AOK as well as AOM pathfinding alogrithims.

is another good article.

You need to register with gamasutra to acess them though.

Good Luck!

If we can''t have the occasional laugh then this is not the sort of forum I want to be part of.

I thought we were being quite gentle, and even gave the answer (A*) as well as a little AI history (A* was derived from the A algorithm) and did so with a bit of "tongue in cheek" to suggest that if one has to ask a general question, at least spell correctly.

Anyway, I agree with fup. If we can''t have the occasional color added to the conversations then things will get pretty dull around here.
