So I just installed Mandrake, after several years of Windows. Everything went fine, except that on 1024x768 resolution (under GNOME), that I use on Windows, looks funky on Mandrake. Funky as in its only on half the screen. The moniter is about 6-7 years old, so might that be the reason, its going all funky on me?
Is half your screen cut off or does it look like it is moved off the screen?

Mmmh, its like the normal screen, except its been mashed into about half of what it should be. I tried this old Dell monitor, and it worked ok, until it decided to die, so im assuming my current one is just crap. Time for a job I suppose. o_O
Sounds as though Mandrake wasn''t able to properly detect. You might find out what your monitors capabilities are, i.e. horizontal and vertical refresh rates.

You might have to edit /etc/X11/XF86Config

Look for "HorizSync" and "VertRefresh". If your horiz goes is 30 to 90, you would put in "30-60" if it were 31.5 and 35.2, you would put in "31.5, 35.2". (Both examples without the quotes)

That''s what it sounds like to me anyway...
