Looking for Rendition of Holst : Mars. Willing to pay for rights to use in my game. please send samples and cost.
What you're looking for is a remake of Mars because you can't use the original, right? A few questions:

1) Are we talking about the whole of Mars? Since it's over 7 minutes, it's probably going to take a long time to make. Also, is it an exact note-by-note remake we're talking about?

2) Which format? Mp3/Ogg or just MIDI?

3) Which budget range does your project lie in? It's hard to give a price without knowing whether this is a semi-pro project or a school presentation.

I''m not sure of the legal nicities. I assume the person who plays their rendition of Holst : Mars, owns 100% of that rendition? Or does someone else own the rights to Holst music?

I have acopy by Brian Trussler which is an excellent Midi file but i cannot contact him to negotiate a price .. so stuff him! If you do a net search on Brian Trussler and Holst, you will come across his website ,where you can download his rendition.

I would like the full 7 minutes, midi is acceptable although a newer format will probably give better results??

The game is just a hobby of mine so would be willing to pay .. hmm, up to 12 sheckles! LOL! seriously ,I have no idea of costs.
quote: The original edition of the Planets (1921) is in the public domain in the United States, if you can find a copy. It was full of mistakes, and there have been several editions since, all of which are still under copyright. I believe that the 1979 edition supervised by Imogen Holst is considered the
most reliable.
