Free game engines...
I am looking for a free game engine
I want it to be as powerful as The Nebula Device from Radon Labs
Though i am not sure if its what i want
If anyone has ever tried it can you tell me if:
It''s language is easy to learn for a beginner who has had little programming experience? (VB,BASIC)
What are its downfalls? (I think there are some since there don''t seem to be much people using it)
Do i have to like pay money to the company for any games i make or sell?
---
And are there any other free game engines out there that are as powerful as Nebula Device?
(Now looking at Nebula Device details, its not really a engine or something? Not sure?)
You help would be greatly appreciated, Thankyou
P.S I have had experience from another game engine before so i am hoping to make something that''s alittle bit more than beginners type game.
What kinda of games are you looking to make that will influence the game engine your looking for. Also most game engine you to buy a very expensive licenses if your planning on selling games made with it.

Well, just about anything.
All i need is a game engine that can load models, textures, etc... (by clicking or coding)
Easy enough to understand (Must have documentation with al commands and their syntax)
And has alot of features

DirectX (and OpenGL) provides everything you seem to require, yet it''s an API, not an engine. It still works the same way, but you have to code everything.
I didn''t see many game engines that are "point and click" game factories, and those that do are retail engines that must be bought. If you want something free, you''ll have to code your way through it.
What game engine did you use in the past? Maybe we can provide you with something similar.
Besides, what do you mean by "features" ? Most of the features of game engines are geared towards a particular type of game (FPS, RTS, Puzzle Games) so to choose from them you need to decide on a game type.

Point and click? 3D Game RAD? Great games like "Dangerous Vaults" have been made with it. You may also want to check out Blitz Basic or Dark Basic.
