I''ve just created some MD2 models with MilkShape for my RoboBlast game. It exports just fine but when I load them in my program, the framerate drops from 20 to 10. The original model had about 800 polys. Mine has about 400 so I should see a speed increase!
I know that MD2''s are optimized for trianglestrips or triangle fans (it stores OpenGL commands) and I guess that MilkShape exporter doesn''t do this optimisation, so every strip or fan just contains one traingle. Does anyone know how I can optimize for strips or fans? Can it be done in MilkShape or do I need (yet) another modelling or converter program?
Thanks in advance,
Sander Maréchal
