Hey all, I''m looking for a really small bitmap/pixel editor program. Preferably: - executes in Windows - does not have any additional files other than the .exe (no installer, no required DLLs other than default OS ones) - doesn''t have to have any features other than different-sized paintbrushes, possibly a fill tool - saves in web-friendly image formats (PNG most preferable, JPG acceptable) - edits images in 24-bit color (preferably displaying a color-picker/palette onscreen) I''ve been google-ing and sourceforge-ing for a couple days, I haven''t really found what I am looking for. I''ll likely program one over the next few days, but any time-savers are appreciated! (On that note, if you''re interested in the program I eventually might make, or its source code, let me know and I''ll post a link to it somewhere when it''s done.) MatrixCubed

Ehum.. Ms Paint? It fullfills all your requirements! Not sure about if it needs any other files the the exe, but all windows has it anyway

And why do you wanna save pixel images in jpg? Save em as gif! Maybe I misunderstood what images you wanted to edit but pixel images looks like crap in jpeg!

I use MS Paint for much of my editing, the GIMP (freeware, has Windows version) for complex stuff. Paint-saved JPEGs are usually crap, so I save my image as a bitmap in a temp image and then open and save as JPEG it in GIMP.

BTW, I was considering writing my own a couple of weeks ago but never got around to it. One thing I thought would be helpful when using a line tool, to make the line a bright red or something while it''s "active" (only one endpoint established) this way you can see where your line is and it''s not obscured by other areas of the same color.

MS Paint can't save as PNG. GIF is 8-bit, and he said he wanted 24-bit.

That''s why I have a special 24 bit file in my Documents folder. I save things that I''m working on to it, then go to GIMP and mess with it. GIMP can save into just about every format (including PNG) with the exception of GIFs.
