Here''s a little something I did for fun this morning. I guess I''ve been watching too much LOTRs .. http://www.zip.com.au/~yannis/CelticOrchestral.mp3 Audio Artist www.GroovyAudio.com

Yannis,

Sounds good, it does remind me a lot of LOTRs. Like when they''re setting out from the shire. I wanted to email you and tell you how much I enjoy your mod based work too (liked the warblade one, it kind of reminded of sonic the hedgehog).

Not bad Yannis,

Right where it ends you should create another major chord of the original fifth. For example, if the chord you used was a C Major, it was a major something, the next chord would then be a G Major, the same timing as the C Major in this instance.

Just a thought

A very neat sample. Similar, yet different to said scene in the film of the hobbits leaving the Shire.

Question by the way (Too tired to start a new topic, sorry ) - what software do you recommend for a complete beginner composer?
I am prepared to actually buy a package, too.
SA-Magic,

There''s a live and healthy thread right now called...imagine this...

"Music Composition Software" in this very forum

Do the research, download demos, and find out which package you''ll be able to work with best. I recommend getting an oldie but a goodie from ebay. Most programs are more or less the same, it''s just who''s in the driver''s seat.

Here''s a quick list of what you might check into.

Tracker programs like: MODplug, Fast Tracker II, Impulse etc..

Noteworthy, Cubase, Cakewalk

Open up a search engine in your browser and go at it.

If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Very nice

I am actually using free ware software to compose with (Psycle). It is a VST host and will require a computer of 700mhz or faster (I''d recommend 1.6ghz min)
The samples are from a orchestral synthesizer and vocals from professional sample libraries.

I know that this is an older topic, but I liked that tune a lot. Did you ever finish it? If you did is there any way that I can hear the whole thing?

Thanks,

No, sorry haven''t finished it as been busy with meeting deadlines for commercial work.

PLus to boot my laptop just DIED last night and is going to cost more than a new Desktop to fix, so trying to source parts for a new desktop before I can compose again.
