Hi! Could anyone please tell where I could get hi-res DEM maps (or any other elevation data) for central europe [for slovenia if possible]. All I could find is some maps of usa/canada. Also, what is the highest resolution you can get for free? @moderator : If this is wrong forum to post this please move it somwhere. I realy don''t know where to put it. You could try here:

I doubt it will help you directly, but you might still wanna have a look at the FourmiLab and their cool pictures from space.
Possibly, you''ll find some links on the website that tells you where to find better pictures ?

What do you mean by "hi-res" ?
I was hoping for something like a sample per 15-50m [ way to optimistic, right? ]. I just wanted some maps of the area where I live so terrain in my engine would be at leat a bit known to me (It's much simpler to work on something that you know how is it supose to look).

I assume you''re VERY optimistic
You can get elevation data for the whole world at ~1km, and recently I''ve seen www.computamaps.com which delivers free data for just about 500m (both elevation and rasters) which is a bit better but still far from your expectations.

If you can pay for the data, you could get some DTED2 data (elevation every 30m) for ~100kE I think. That''s approximately what you would have to pay for such precision over such area.

Anyway, you can take a look at vterrain.org where you will surely find useful information for just about anything related to digital terrains.
