Think of GMAX as 3D Studio lite. GMAX has the same interface, but many of the features in MAX are not there, such as a renderer.

GMAX was made for people who play games who wan''t to make mods. You are suppose to contact Discreet to arrange licensing if you want to use it to create game content.

Althoug there is a work around for that...

And there are many plugins for converts models from GMAX to UT2003,Quake3,LithTech` Engines Games. And it`s all for free.
