any significant difference between the 4x5 and the 6X8? i''m thinking of replacing my graphire with something better, however sense i''ve never used an intuos, or for that matter even seen one in person, i require some advice... i''m in canada, so the difference between those tablets is around 200$ for me should i save the money and go with the smaller one.. or do a little pimping on the side and go for the 6x8?

The only real question to ask yourself, since you are used to using an A6, is : do I need more room ?
I mean, personally, I am fine using A6, but I got myself an A5 from the start, for the heck of it (and because I saved money for like 5 years before I could buy the damn thing).
But if you are fine using A6, why would you want bigger ?
It''s not gonna really make a difference. To be honest, at times I still find it a bit too big for my drawing style.
Now of course, if you are a serious drawer, and you use the thing very often, and you take art lessons, you might want to go for a larger model.
The reason I mention art lessons is because they generally teach you to draw *large*, which means when you end up using a tablet you feel cramped.

Simply compare how much comfort the larger size will *actually* give you, with what you could get for 200$ of spare cash

well. the graphire (4x5) just feels to cramped, to sensitive..but sense i''ve never used a larger tablet, i''m not sure if thats just natural, or if indeed i near a bigger tablet :S

Graphine is the least sensitive of the bunch. Only having 512 levels of sensitivity. The Intuotus ones have 2048.

the intuos has 1024 Pressure Levels, and 2,540 lines of Resolution.. but my question is not about the specs, but the size! can anyone here help me out?

well what is it you need to know, because if your working in higher resolutions, dpi''s on your drawings then go for the biggest tablet you can get.

The bigger the tablet the more steady the line is when drawing at a smale scale, the extra size is gonna help a lot when doing any kind of work.

I have a 4x5 wacom and its way to small for me, i cant afford a replacement yet but when i do im gonna buy the biggest tablet i can find by wacom. From what i know and ive heard a lot about wacom tablets over the last few month''s everyone says get the biggest size you can afford.

a little search could have saved you all this; bigger is not necessarily better. it all depends on whether you are a "fine arts" drawing type or if you work from your wrist.
The size? I mean it does say 4x5 and 6x8...

I have a 6x8 and it feels great on the desk or lap.

"a little search could have saved you all this" i have done a search.. asking people on a massage board would be my last resort because it takes such a long time to get a reply...
i know quite a bit about tablets and computer graphics, however all I know comes from personal experience. As I’ve never used a tablet bigger then 4x5, I really have no idea how they behave

maybe i should clarify my question a little better.. i would like to hear from people who have used, or at least tryed both the intuos 4x5 and the 6x8.. and i just wanted to hear their opinion on how they differ in "feel" and "sensitivity". By sensitivity i mean, how even can u keep a line, does it shake? does the extra size provide for more stable control?

thanks
