Max > Milkshape conveter
Im looking for a app to convert .max or .3ds files into .ms3d files.
Any suggestions?
Thanks Heaps.
First off, Milkshape can open 3ds files so problem solved there. Another app which can open 3ds files and save to Milkshape format is Ultimate Unwrap.
As for .max files, do you need to convert the actual .max file or can you export from 3D Studio Max? I don't know of any tools for the former (according to the website PolyTrans can do this but I've never used that software) but the latter is easy enough. Exactly how you go about it depends on what sort of data needs exported. For example, the best path to get a static model from 3D Studio Max to Milkshape (export to 3ds) is very different from the best path to get a skeletal animated character (export to Half-Life SMD.)
