Can someone explain Adobe Imageready to me?

ImageReady is for getting your Images Ready for the web (or distribution in general). Basically you use Photoshop to create and edit the images in psd format (layers, lossless, etc), then use ImageReady to tweak and optimize the compression of the image into a final distribution version (JPG, PNG, GIF).

doesn´t it say all that on the box?
image ready, i believe is adobe''s answer to marcomedia fireworks.. both of these programs were designed primarily for website design...

i could be wrong about this. however sense image ready comes with photoshop 7, i really see not reason to use it
