Is there good MMO RPG Engine??
I am looking for MMO RPG engine. I know little bit about Openskies and X-Caliber Engines. You might explain about previous 2 engines too....Thanks....
Although there "free" registration key only allows a very limited amount of time. So you need to keep on downloading it. There examples also suck and do not go in to any kind of detail that you need to know.
If you go to www.replicanet.com and ask them they will supply you with a freeware license that is not time limited. You have to ask and explain that you are just doing free stuff.
The examples from replicanet also give you something which is much more like a game so you can see how it can work.

Downloading a free key every 45 days isn't a problem. How hard can it be to visit the website and copy and paste some text.
Sure the demos aren't great, at least they work. I tried the Replicanet demo and it wouldn't work; it kept complaining about not being able to find the media. I didn't see any mention of a free license on their website.

The key downloading thing is a bit daft since if you release a version of your engine for free then you need to include instructions on how to download the new key. Which is annoying.
The replicanet demo program doesn't give errors about missing media here or on test machines. You need DX8 of course.
If you want to download the demo from the site, to make sure you're testing the latest version, and send me a bug report I'll read it and get back to you.
When did you last download the demo?
There isn't anything on the site about free versions but then what you don't ask for you don't get either.![](smile.gif)
I've always been happy to hand out free versions for people who just want to stick to free ware stuff and who ask.

I have DirectX9 installed and I downloaded the demo just prior to posting that last comment.

Fixed. Install shield wasn't setting up the working directory properly for he shortcut. The file on the website is now fixed. To avoid downloading it again you can just run the EXE from the directory that it is installed to.
Sorry for the trouble.![](wink.gif)

I''ll download it again when I have the time.
I presume that the library is only suited for games up to say 32 players? Or is it suitable for MMPOGs?
Cheers
