I use Maya; Though I have used Lightwave and 3D Studio Max in the past, Maya just makes my modeling so much faster. Of course, photoshop for the skins. I was rather lazy with the UV sets if you can tell they span alot in some areas, but I just did this for fun and in timed conditions.

well, i''ve never created 3d models before, so i have no base to compare 2. however it looks ok so far...

The Base model looks good, but the texturing job is not so great...How are you texturing the models?
the model itself is great, the texturing job is so/so. i suspect
you''re using a lowres texture, and thats where alot of the degredation
is coming into play, but overal- nice job.
i cant tell if the forearms are segmented though, if they''re connected,
you might consider beefing up your polycount to avoid tearing during
animation (that is- if you plan on animating this model).

i give it a 7.5 out of 10

work on the texture and you''ll get a 10!

Thanks, I was getting worried, I need someone to tell me what to work on. That time frame is off btw, its 9 hours or so. The reason I put it up there is to compare how long it should take me to do something like that.

I plan on redoing the entire texturing of the model because I was rather lazy as you could tell. My UV skills are really lacking, but I learned a lot more about UV setup, cutting merging, though you really can’t tell. I do have a few questions if any of you get a chance. I noticed my UV count was way above my vertex/poly count, so far that I was questioning myself. Is that normal when you have low poly models, vice high poly models?

Also yes, I used segmented models, but I don’t really know what I should try to-do around joints modeling wise. I just tried to make it look good, but I’m quite sure that an animation of this werewolf would show a lot of weakness in these areas. I should do some reading on segmented modeling, or maybe you have some tips for me?

Really any tips on UV setup pre-Photoshop, segmented modeling, or other modeling method suggestions are more then welcome. I’m always trying to make myself more educated in this area.
