digital painting (wip)
hi,
i am not working on any game projects or am in the gaming feild but, i would like to contribute to the art side of the gamedev.net forums. i plan on being apart of a game team in the future so i fugured it counts enough. i like how the forums are comprised of two hemispheres, one i am not so familiar with and want to be familiar with.
i learned how to use photoshop, six months ago and have recently gott'n my hands dirty with a wacom tablet and painter. i am nearing the end of my first 3d modeling class, using 3d studio max, loving every day of it.
any criticism or comments more than welcome.

Only one word.
WOW!!
#Old Steve, he said to Xerox "Boys, turn your heads and cough"
And when no-one was looking he ripped their interfaces off#

Whoa, thats pretty cool. nice!
Those pipes in the box looks real? (are they taken from a photo?)
The only thing I noticed was that his fingers look rather long...maybe you intended that way?
On A sidenote: Would you be interested in doing some facial (head) modelling for my game development team?
(Its not a paying job, but it *would* count as job experience, because we *are* a company.)
Let me know if your interested

hi!
i wouldnt know. (?) i just found this place, i am rather new to forums all together.
raymondo:
i am very interested, i dont have a computer right now, and i dont want to make any promises i cant keep, so i am not going to lie to you, i probably couldnt find the time right now.
what are you working on, maybe your project is so exciting i will sell a kidney and buy a machine. right now all i have to use now is my room mates and the ones in my schools labs.
here is a detailed shot:
no photos, i did punch and stab a box i had, for reference but it is all paint. most of the character i painted using a digital mouse and the background i used using an extra wacom a friend gave to me because "i needed one".
i am really pleased with the copper and galvanized look on the pipes, it mostly happened on accident, painter is that good.
i accidently saved over the psd file when cropping this! i had an earlier file saved so i have all the details of the character, but lost the detail of the background, i was so pissed - i thought i had lost it all! this is the second time i saved over stuff and wasnt thinking, what a maroon - i got so lucky.

they were like this:
the hands looked alot worse, you think they are too long now?
there is a kind of stretched and dynamic style to his anatomy but if it looks annoying i want to fix it, i made his fingers that long on purpose, but now you have me staring at them again.
.. i think .. i am .. gonna chop em off ..
i have put around 35 hours into the piece so far.

I wasn''t actually asking a question, I was just making that remark since I''ve seen you at conceptart.org.
It looks awesome! Reminds me of the freaky gay dad from American Beauty.
