Telnet question

Hello, I have a quick question.
How come when I open up a telnet session, and
I connect to:
mail.yahoo.com
25
ANSI
I get:
220 logs-mtc-ta.proxy.aol.com
instead of:
220 mail.yahoo.com
Any help would be great.

Because it''s relaying your IP to that site. Although I could be wrong. If you post more of the message you get I might be able to decyper what it means.
