Anyone interested in creating music for a game?
Hi there,
We are a team of 3 people(2 programmers, 1 artist) working on a game. We''re a small but dedicated team working on this game for about a year now. We wrote our own gfx engine and sound engine(including full surround sound support).
because the game is coming along nicely now, we''re looking for a musician to create a nice soundtrack and/or soundfx for the game.
The game is a top down viewed ''action game'' running on a 3dhardware accelerated engine(in normal language: nice special fx) where you have control of a fighter and you''ll have to complete different mission goals.
The ''sound'' we are looking for is rough guitar sound. We were thinking of a type of metal/rock-like soundtrack. But other suggestions are welcome (if your good in any other type of music, just let us hear some)
If you are interested we have a little alpha test of the game to show you, so you can get a feeling of the game and to show you we are a serious team. The positions is non-paid as of now, but that can change dependign if we find a publisher or not.
Summarized:
We''re looking for a musician that:
- has some free time to work on game music
- does not require payment as of now
- has some samples to show
- wants to work with a small dedicated production team

Try playing some Kid Rock or ODB or even Blink182. Personally I like "The Way I Am" by Eminem. My cousin Jorge Finke plays the Guitar and he''s pretty good at playing both accustic and electric guitar. He has a lot of free time of his hands and he has some sample songs on his computer. Here''s his e-mail address if you interested: finke@hotmail.com or finke.17@osu.edu Just to keep you informed he''s not going to school right now. He just sits around all day in the house and plays Super Mario World which he sucks at (He''s been playing it for 3 months now and he''s still in Yoshi''s Island, and he plays this game all day too!) So contact that sucker when you get a chance. Good luck with your game!

Im 18 years old and currently studying for a Foundation Degree in Music Technology. Im hoping to compose music for computer games when I leave college. Im currently composing music for Resident Evil - The Escape (www.planethalflife.com/rete). Im basically looking for work to add to my CV. To be honest, I dont have a lot of spare time due to college assignments, work and music, but would be willing to spend what spare time I do have on trying some music and/or FX for your game.
Examples of my work can be found at www.mp3.com/night_shadow (This is more synth based music) and www.mp3.com/rhythm_attic (this is more classic songwriting, but hopefully shows that I can play guitar). I currently dont know much about 5.1 surround music and FX, but have contacts at www.earcom.net and www.revolution.co.uk that will be able to give me advice.
Thanks

Hi ! It''s interesting suggestion. I''m working in techno styles. Would like to try something in action style (not rock), but probably with some hard guitars. You can find some works here www.mp3.com/xprg this is some oldies, but if you''ll like this we can continue talking about further collaboration. Please contact me at sauron@novgorod.net.
