polycount in xbox scene

Does anyone know what the polycount limit for an xbox scene??? Working on some development tools... Thanks, [edited by - cadman97 on October 29, 2002 9:36:08 PM]
Well it has 64MB, so whatever you can fit in along with textures at min. 30fps.

There isn''t a physical limit, all depends of the engine, costs of the fx you use and texture sizes/amount.

30fps is just the lowest it is allowed to go on a console. If you have a decent GF2 or GF3 video card you can test there what you can realize on an xbox, more or less.

x-box uses a geforce3 with dual vertex shader. a gf2 wont work for everything because gf3 has support for pixel shaders. you could of course emulate this on the gf2 but you wont get much fps

Yah well, we didn''t use pixel shaders so a good GF2 was pretty accurate for us. There''s no PC setup that gives you exact values anyways but that''s what devkits are for =]

depends on your engine...something like ut can handle a lot..but it also depends on how much AI, Textures, and animation data you are loading..so it''s more of "there is no one answer"
