this is a texturing question, im not new to this at all, but until now ive never had to do multi-texturing, i need to know what kind of textures i should be making, (the game is a top-down view similar to WC3) i have some base textures, and i need a good way to blend them and as i under-stand, multi-texturing, or layered texturing, is the way to do this, i looked up every resource i could find on the net about it, but all the tutorials focused on the code and not the art aspect, any help is much appreciated.

go to gametutorials.com, they have a very good tutorial on multi texturing, by now people might start to think im the official spokesperson for gametutorials.com but im not, the site just has a lot of good tutorials, its a must have resource for opengl programmers.

I think you need to write a program to bake the lightmap for you. If you are using either Max5, Maya, XSI you can bake the lightmap there.
as i said in my post, im not looking for code, i need to know how i should be making these textures, the most code i know is visual basic and turing, as for you monochrome, i have no clue what the hell youre talking about, "bake a lightmap"???
Wow gametutorials.com is a great site I just wish they went as in depth in D3D as they do into OGL Im still trying to figure out how to do animation with my .X models
