Hi, yesterday i've installed the new detonator 40.72 drivers (i've got an asus gf4 4200 and win2k) and after that my OpenGL programms won't run anymore. i got a lity prog which tells the renderer and the opengl extensions, and it told me: Vendor : Microsoft Corporation Renderer : GDI Generic so i de-installed the drivers and installed the previous 40.41 but that doesn't help, so i installed the drivers that were shipped whit the board (29.something) with this driver it works, but this driver is old and BAD! so i re-installed 40.41 and i've got the same problem as before. also, on my desktop, every symbol is just in 16 colors...although my desktop-color-depth is at 32bit i hope someone can help me. try the latest 3x.xx drivers. detonator 40.xx are beta and therefore aren''t guaranteed to work properly/at all.

Don''t just reinstall your old drivers. Uninstall your video card before (go to the "Devices manager" (not sure it''s the real english name) and *delete* it).

Then, reboot and install your old drivers.

Prosper: well...i wrote that i actually de-installed the drivers before i installed the old.

but after a little registry-editing-session magically all works fine now

yeah... there was a bug with deinstalling old detonators.. not sure if it is fixed now. there was a special program in the internet which u could use for deinstalling the detonator. but i dont know if the problem is still there. i just know that there were detonators that got this problem ( think it would make sense why it worked after editing registry )
