Hi, i just want to make some simple geometric 3d models. The problem is that i just can''t get used with blender. i find it annoying and i''m still not able to do precise stuff. So, can you tell me other free alternatives? preferably more like autocad.
There isn''t anything like what you''re looking for. Sorry. The thing you need to ask is, what are you looking to do? AutoCAD is not for making 3d models for use in games. Blender and 3DS Max are not for making precise engineering and architectural designs. For game models, you do not need the precision that AutoCAD and its overhead entail.

You might wanna look at Milkshape if Blender''s interface is to odd. It is a 30day trial then it costs $20US.

I don''t like Blender either, but luckly the people who make Truespace have release v1.0 for free.
http://www.pcplus.co.uk has a free download of Truespace + the key.

here the link to the download page for Truespace v1.0

Oops - my bad. I *TOTALLY* forgot about Truspace. FYI, the interface for Truspace is a lot like the standard 3D modelling interface, ala 3DS MAX. The UV mapping in v1 kinda sucks, but in a game, you tend to do your own mapping anyway.

I''d have to agree, but the UI is certainly more user friendly than blenders (IMHO).

I love Blender. If you willing to post what is giving you trouble I may be able to help.

But, if you are just put out with Blender and all you need a good modeler then try Wings3D. Its free and its pretty good, but its only a modeler, no UV mapping, no animation, no lighting, no rendering. Check it out at http://www.wings3d.com/ .
All of you are right. What i was looking for was not something to model characters, faces or things like this. All i wanna do are sipmle geometrical stuff like a connect 4 grid (whole in the middle and with small borders on sides and circles).
Therefore, i was looking for a simple but precise modeling tool with a more intuitive interface. precise because i want to make the model with the same dimensions as the real, if possible.

thanks for all.

other tips are still welkome !
