Sorry to post this here, it is probably a simple question to answer but the search is not yet working. I have just started playing around with Blender, but I cannot find the manuals or the help files to download (yet, but i will keep looking on google before anyone states the obvious !) Can anyone recommend a good set of tutorials for learning the real basics of Blender, such as how to draw shapes that are more than 4 sides, how to use some of the features etc. I am learning slowly, but I want to speed up my learning with some informative help. elysiun.com hosts a large Blender community. I''m sure you''ll find links to tutorials from there.

I have been there, and there are some tutorials and download links, but the tutorials marked beginner all assume a basic level of knowledge !

I have found a few of those basic facts by ploughing through the FAQ though, so I guess I can be happy knowing I am not the only one with the same questions.

This site has the tutorials that used to be on the official blender site. It walks you through the interface and then moves on to the more advanced features of Blender.

PS I used to have those basic tuts on my computer, but I found this one using Google. hint search for "blender+tutorial".
