Sorry, I think you''re on your own here, because (a) these games aren''t very popular any more, and (b) they really don''t involve anything that isn''t covered by some other (more popular) genre. I''ve certainly never come across any URLs for them.

Why not start with one where there is no graphical representation of the game/match/race, and then try to fit that bit in at the end?

Yep, just look at Championship Manager. And also look at... wait, there are hardly any other popular management games Sure, you can find one or 2. Now compare to non-management sports games, or flight sims, or first-person shooters, or real-time strategy, etc, etc. They''re not popular any more and only the best of the genre really sells.

Something else to bear in mind - Championship Manager doesn''t even try to have a ''graphical'' game either - it is just text, even in version 3... and therefore it''s ust a more detailed version of the old text management games, going all the way back to good old Football Manager in 1984 or whenever. That''s why I''d recommend going down that route first - if it''s good enough for the best in the genre, it''s good enough for you
