How to make good asteroids art?
I''m trying to make a good art for my asteroids clone game, but it looks more like a biscuit (you can download the game at http://www.angelfire.com/ut/zeraan/Beyaan.zip). I''ve seen some good asteroids art, and wonder how did they make that art?
Thanks for your help.
If you''re looking to make stuff really cheaply... check out sPatch + PovRay. You can make some patches, hook them together, and then use the noise feature. Apply some procedure texture, and then render a simple rotating animation from pov, using ini''s. That''s how I''ve done my asteroid art.
Huh? I didn''t understand that... I''m using DirectDraw, in case you need to know.

PovRay is a ray tracing program (art) - he is explaining a technique on how to makee realistic asteriods
Ok, thanks for that info, how can I do that? I have Paint Shop Pro, but not sure if it can do that. I don''t have any 3D modeler also.
"Literally, it means that Bob is everything you can think of, but not dead; i.e., Bob is a purple-spotted, yellow-striped bumblebee/dragon/pterodactyl hybrid with a voracious addiction to Twix candy bars, but not dead."- kSquared
Thanks! Downloading it now...
Is there help files with it that helps you learn how to use it? Or is there online tutorials?

Wow, its easy! (jumps in glee) Thanks! I''m learning how to use it right now. I finished with the torue demo!
I''m struggling with making a sphere with noise and heightmapping for it. Can you post the code on how your works? I''ll research that code and see how it works. Thanks for your help!
In a corner by the door were thousands of switches. They were marked with words Linda did not understand: "Line... Feed... Load... Flipflop..."
But she could understand the small green signs under each switch. They all said, "On."
"You take half!" Al cried. He began to hit the switches with both hands. He was turning off five at a time. Red lights began to flash. They said, "Off... Off... Off."
Exactly what we need to do with Windows.
