I need to create textures for alien planets and the like. I''m willing to work for it as most of the stuff on the net seems to be available for money only. Does anyone know of a program that can create spherical textures (textures that can be wrapped around spheres and you won''t see the line of transition where the edges meet). Maybe Terragen has a plugin or something that I don''t know of? Thanks for your time, Crispy

By the way, you may want to check out a plug-in for Photoshop called Lunar Cell. They do ask for some compensation for the plug-in, but from what I''ve seen its well worth it.

Thanks Wavinator. Though I can''t release anything created with Lunar Cell, it allows one to create rather fine planetary textures. I think I''ll give paying the registration fee a though when I get the cash.

I have another question of a slightly different nature, though, but I think it fits well in this forum .

Are classical music pieces (symphonies etc by classical composers) copyrighted by their performers/distributors or can I rip those from the cd and distribute along with my program as mp3''s? A quick look around a cd box only shows that the cd is "licensed to Mediaphon" (for example) - there are no copyright notices attached, but I don''t want to guess on this one...

Again, wrong forum for the question (Sound + Music or Business would be more appropriate) but I''ll answer anyway; the recordings are copyrighted and you are not allowed to distribute them. However the score itself is free - assuming the composer has been decomposing for the legally specified length of time - and you are allowed to re-record the piece yourself and distribute it.
