My forum has been dead lately, minus my employee''s talking... And I''d like to get a few hundred people to sign up and talk on it... Where can I advertise, for FREE, that will get alot of people talking on my forums? I am already on google, I just don''t know what meta-tags to use for the search...

I suggest you go to the Lounge and search for the mass of June topics about how to get people to visit a personal site. To sum up:

-Build a lot of content
-Make sure navigation and overal visual appeal are good
-Tell people about it. Use your sig here to plug a link to your site.

Meta tags have been abused so much they aren''t really used by search engines any more.

I get top 10 rankings at google for lots and lots of things on my site without using a single meta tag simply because of the content and how it''s organized.

If all you have is a forum, it''s going to be very difficult to get people to go.

A forum is suplementary to the content. Meaning people are going to go to your site because of the content. Having a forum just gives them a place to discuss your content if they want.

You also need to figure out who your competition is and come up with some good reasons for people to go to you instead and then capitalize on those points.

Once you have your catch then when you advertise you won''t just get one time lookers. If it used to have visitors and now it doesn''t, it''s because it got boring. You need to have something that keeps their attention.
