modem using WinSock
Does anyone know how to use the modem with WinSock. I''ve done a search and all I can find is stuff on TCP connections! I know it can be done with DirectPlay, but I see all these games that don''t use DirectPlay and offer modem connections.
Thanks for any replys.

You mean modem-to-modem rather than playing over the internet? I''m not sure if winsock can do that. At least as far as i can tell from the msdn docs, winsock only facilitates network connections, not serial transfers which is what a modem-to-modem connection is. You may need to look up serial and/or PPP...
Winsock can be used once the modem-to-ISP connection has been established. You should look up the Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI).
