RTS school project with not much on networking in curricumlum
Greetings...
I attend a school that has a specialized degree in game design and developement. My class is in its final project, to make a game of demo+ quality. We''ve chosen to do an RTS, and have licensed a "middleware" engine for rendering and minor physics.
The networking code has become my sole purpose in life as of late, and although i welcome it, we weren''t given much knoledge or wisdom in this aspect of games (2 lectures on sockets, and impllementation into a "virtual world" using openGL, as a project). With this lack of experience I ''ve found myself with a blank compiler page and not much of a clue as to where to start...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
