Both are cool, except i would remove the lightning from the top pic. IMHO lightning looks kinda crap unless its animated.
I think they both look really nice, the only thing that stands out to me is the title text for 'clouds'..
You've got a very nice image workup there, with lots of great effects (even the lightning is cool... i wouldn't take it out contrary to the previous poster's comments)..
But the 'clouds' text itself is plain... If you had a phatty game title logo there, that screen would look like a million bucks.
With our without any changes, that title screen is really impressive.

Thanx for the feedback. Yeah I think I can whip up a more interesting logo for the text.
thanx again!

yeah the logo is sweet, but the "Cloud" text looks highly "cheap" and seems like it was an after thought. contrastly the "Press Start" button looks fitting. you seemed to ahve though of making the letters more cloud like and almost flow, but opted with a simple layer blur text deal. you would be surprised how much better it would look if you were to make it more flowing as if it were made of clouds (think puff of smoke blown towards the letters which are solid and interefere with the letters). while the effect is suggest is not trivial, it would make things fit together better. i also agree the lightening seems slightly out of place.
though you probably could get away with leaving it the way it is since its still quit nice, but i know many artists happen to be perfectionists (well i am anyway, heh).
