I just downloaded MS, the background of the quadrants are pitch black in versions 1.6.2 and 1.5.7, but in tutorials I see they are grey and gridded (unlike mine). The tutorials show when you click on the quadrants to form verticies you should be able to see each vertex you applied instantly, however I cannot, I have to go to "select all" to see where I have placed my verticies. Because of this whenever I make an action all the verticies dissapear and I have to guess where they are, so im basically blind and have to constantly click "select all", the 3d view quadrant is also not in that black/grey form when I connect verticies. PLEASE HELP THIS ANXIOUS ARTIST!!!!!!

Im also only 15 and want to start creating models asap, so if you have any advice for me as to where to go or what to do, I would greatly appreciate it
