Is Shockwave a good alternative?
I''ve been putting together a simple networked game (just connect-4 at this point) so I can become more familiar with networking.
I was sick of using C/C++ and I wanted to learn a new language so I moved to Java, but I found it''s Swing GUI to be slow for apps.
Then found Python and wxPython, which is so easy to use it is sick!
But then I ran across Shockwave 8.1 and this game on flipcode http://www.sentinelislands.co.uk/play.html and was very suprised by it''s power.
Has anyone used shockwave to create simple online/networked games? Any ups and downs for it''s use?
