Have to agree with Palidine. Asking a more experienced person to teach you doesn''t seem like asking too much, actually it seems like the best way to go.
Mags, you''ll want to learn ANSI C programming first (a DOS compiler would be fine for that).

1) Keep your dumbest newbie requests to yourself.

2) Don't post asking for more than one thing at a time. Asking someone to teach you C++ is like asking 5 billion questions at one time.

3) Get MSVC++ 6.0 Introductory Edition (Free)

4) Read SAMS Teach Yourself C++ In 21 Days (and don't expect to learn C++ In 21 Days, its just a title not a guarentee).

5) Read C++ Unleashed by the same author as "C++ In 21 Days".

6) Read Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus.

1) I have a better one, try your best to find the answers for your newbie questions (usually they are easy to find - hence newbie questions). If you still cannot find them come here and explained what you searched (so people dont assume you just want them to do the work for you) and ask your question.

3) Dev-C++ is also free but you've apparently been ignoring the links to it in this thread.

4) Sams Teach Yourself C++ In 21 Days should keep you occupied for a while. I haven't read the other two books so I cant comment on them.

*EDIT: I apparently cant count
*EDIT: wait... yes I can, I just forgot that I was matching my numbers to the same questions above, then I had to delete the double post since I clicked quote instead of edit. I'm having so many problems today....

I will not make a list of links... I will not make a list of links... I will not make a list of links...

Actually, that''s what I said in "2) Don''t post asking for more than one thing at a time. Asking someone to teach you C++ is like asking 5 billion questions at one time."

Try not to ask such questions in here, too many people here have lost their ability to have empathy for anyone but themselves.

I agree with most of your other points to varying degrees, however this is the For Beginners forum. There is no question that is too "dumb". I have no problems with you having that kind of snobbish additude, however kindly keep it out of my forum.

This is getting out of hand. Perhaps I''m having trouble reading between the lines, but no where in MagsOfWar''s post did I see him say "Could someone show me what asshole sounds like". Any more beyond this point and I''ll simply prune every post in this thread that is remotely insulting.
