TCP-UDP hybrid
Hi,
I am planning a TCP-Server (for reliable data) and a UDP-Server (for fast positing data).
I got a question on TCP.
I would like to use ipv6 for the packets send/received.
1. Can somebody tell me the advantages of ipv6 against ipv4?
2. Is is ok to use it? Does all ISP have already support for that (or is it supported by all out of the box)?
thank you
Dominik
To my knowledge, ipv6 is not supported by the majority of machines on the net, so don''t bother with it.
ipv4 is fine for most anything.

Full Ack on this.
Unless you talk of a server for you intranet, and you already run your intranet on IPv6 (hm, reminds me of a lab room here at my company) there is no IPv6.
IPv6 is a standard for the future, but unless the internet starts to change this, it is of no use for you. The internet is IPv4. Period.
