This year's GDWC - Game Developers World Championship has launched and is open for submissions. GDWC is a yearly online event where game developers compete to see who has made the best game this year. Games from all platforms are welcome and teams can compete in multiple categories: Professional, Hobbyist, and Game Jam. There’s also the coveted Fan Favorite award chosen by gamers themselves.
Submissions are open at thegdwc.com for all games that are released this year or are currently in development. All games are welcome, regardless if developed by a team of professional game devs or by a lone hobbyist. There are also no platform limitations as games from all platforms all accepted: PC, Consoles, Mobile, Browser, VR, even Board Games!
Pro and Hobby category winners will be rewarded with a trip to Finland and visits to top studios for team representatives. Game Jam and Fan Favorite winners will receive Finland-themed care packages.
If you or your team has a game coming out or currently in development, don’t hesitate to sign up! Submissions are now open at thegdwc.com
GDWC 2020 kicks off with new community features in sight. The GDWC team is working to bring game developers, studios, publishers, and other parties closer together with various new features that will be implemented throughout the year. One of the first features aims to help talented developers find new work opportunities in the industry.
--Our goal is to bring people on the various branches of the industry from across the globe together and this way help new opportunities for success arise, says Olli Mäntylä, the GDWC Manager.
More information on the competition and new features is available on the GDWC website at thegdwc.com.
