Question: please help.
Okay, I really want to learn C++. Mostly for game programming but basic software programming is great as well, but mostly game programming(3D).
I want to buy a book with a lot of good information but not something that would be over my head. Okay as for a little background on myself, I do have a little background in programming. Nothing compared to the depth of C++. I can write games for the TI-83 calculator( I made a few games, one like space invaders ). NOthing complicated really but I do have some general knowledge. I also understand actionscripting in Macromedia flash somewhat. I know very basic PHP as well. Anyway I have basic knowledge of the way things work with looping, and so forth. But lets not go in to deep, We will call me stupid for now.
So my question is what, in your opinion, is the best book on 3D game programming. If anyone has used a certain book and learned how to develop a game directly from it, let me know because it may be a great book.

Dude, first learn C++ and then try jumping into game programming. May be you can work on the math part of 3d game programming while you learn C++, but you cant just directly jump into game programming without much knowledge in C/C++...

Krad7 is not kidding. I don''t think there is a person alive capable of learing C++ and 3D graphics programming at the same time. I speak from experience; I''ve been learning C++ for about 2 years now and I just started with Direct3D. It''s confusing as hell. Covering both of these sufficiently would take something like a 3-4 thousand page book, anyway.
