Zelda Clone
I just had an glorious idea for a game. I wanna (try) to make an Zelda Clone and when I can do it will make it online. Before I''m gonna rush myself into things I like writing a server and shit I need some help. Are there any tutorials online on how to make an Zelda clone? I need some help with showing the world, displaying buildings and stuff. For example, I want to have a mill in it but the 4 windcatching thingies need to move. How would I do that? So, if anyone can point me to some information about how to do such stuff I will be gratefull.

I''m gonna use DirectX and C++. What sort of Engine would use a Zelda clone? A tilebased or so?

Yes it''s tilebased. If you''re not sure what that is, check out the articles section here on gamedev, there''s plenty of info.

I''m trying to say: I first research some stuff, test out several parts and then start working on a game. Is there an online tutorial(Or one that I can download) for Tilebased gamedevelopment?
Thnx

When I was lookinf through the articles, I came across a set called "Game programming genesis", I think that said it would cover from win32 up to creating a tilebased RPG engine -- Just what you need ^^.
